Ari Wölfl
Hi I'm Ari Wölfl, I am an Ocean Photographer living in Margaret River, Western Australia.
I'm lucky enough to have been brought up living so close to the ocean in this pristine area of the world. I was introduced to the ocean at a very young age which has enabled me to be comfortable and at ease in the surf in the search of yet another elusive shot.
Since the day I was introduced to the ocean and a bodyboard I was completely obsessed and in the water at the beach at any chance I could get, no matter what the conditions. As the years went on, I found myself more focused on photography. I began chasing photos more than surfing myself. The excitement on someone's face when you capture a great shot of them in the water is priceless, unmatched and enormously satisfying. The pivotal moment in my photography experience was purchasing my first Water Housing. This gave me a whole new perspective of surf photography, fueling my desire, excitement and enthusiasm to be in ocean. Throwing myself into challenging conditions to capture the unpredictable motion of water and the ever-changing shifts of light are what excite me.
Being exposed and vulnerable, immersed in the ocean up close and personal to the very form of waves is an amazing feeling. The possibilities with ocean photography are endless with so many variables involved. I hope you get the same joy from gazing at my photos as I do when capturing them.
